Teeth Whitening

The dentists at Classic Smiles, are now offering comprehensive teeth whitening to give you a more beautiful and confident smile. How your teeth look can play an important role in enhancing overall dental health and self-esteem as well. Although there are so many cosmetic teeth treatments, teeth whitening is by far the most popular. The reason for this is simple. It doesn't take a lot of time or money to get your teeth whitened. Teeth discoloration is also very common. It is mostly caused by poor dental hygiene, but diet also plays a part. Beverages like coffee, tea, and some soft drinks have been linked to teeth discoloration.

Tobacco is also one major cause. Discoloration may also be caused by advanced age. The great thing is that there is a simple treatment for this. Our dental hygienists are standing by to restore your shiny white smile. Depending on the level of discoloration on the teeth, it can take between 30 and 90 minutes to get the job done. It is also a good idea to have the teeth whitened at least once in every 12 months. This will ensure you can keep off any discoloration before it becomes worse.

Why Should You Consider Teeth Whitening?

Teeth whitening is all about cosmetics. Teeth are naturally supposed to be white, and they look great that way. The last thing you want is to have your teeth turning yellow or brown. This will affect the quality and beauty of your smile massively. Whitening helps to restore the natural look of your teeth making sure you retain your beautiful and confident smile.

It may also be a good idea to have your teeth whitened in time for a special occasion. It could be a wedding, an important job interview, or any other occasion where you will need to present a confident and beautiful smile. There are also a few materials used in dentistry that may lead to teeth discoloration. For example, prolonged use of amalgam restorations may cast a gray color on your teeth. In such situation, whitening may be required after the restoration is done.

How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

A visit to our dental office should take care of any teeth whitening needs that you have. However, you will notice that there are a few over the counter solutions that can be used. Although they are still good, they are not as effective as a visit to our dental offices. The first step is often to record the current shade of your teeth. This helps to establish the extent of the discoloration. Our team will then use pumice to polish your teeth. A barrier will then be installed around the gums to ensure they are not exposed to the cleaning agent. Once this is done the whitening will commence. It will take between 30 and 90 minutes.
