Dental Implant FAQ
Ocoee, FL

Photograph of dental implants done at Classic Smiles in Ocoee, FL There are various instances when you may end up having to remove your teeth or suffer from major tooth loss. Irrespective of what the situation is, one of the most important things that you need to keep in mind is to replace the missing teeth as soon as possible. This will not only help to enhance the way you look, but also ensure better functionality. There are various benefits of getting dental implants and although a lot of people choose different alternatives, such as bridges, veneers, or dentures, dental implants are highly recommended and are the best for various reasons. One of the most important benefits of getting dental implants is that it prevents jaw and gum resorption, which is a condition people suffer from when they end up losing teeth. If you are wondering what this is all about and how dental implants can help, all you need to do is visit Classic Smiles and we can help you understand why dental implants are the best way to help preserve your facial features.

What is Jaw and Gum Resorption?

When your teeth fall out, not only does it make it difficult for you to eat and swallow your food but it also becomes an overall health problem. When you are unable to eat, it means that you start losing your overall nutrients on a daily basis. Apart from that, it also becomes a complex issue where you feel self-conscious when you come in contact with people and need to have a conversation with them. In order to avoid this situation, it is a good idea to get your teeth replaced. The reason dental implants are important is that apart from the fact that your teeth help you in various other ways it also helps to keep your jaw intact. The minute you start losing teeth there is a chance of gum and jaw resorption which means that the gums and jaws begin to come closer towards the area where the teeth are missing. This happens because of the space created and it affects your facial features drastically. When you get dental implants, it tightens your jaw and it prevents any such situation from occurring.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

When you get dental implants it automatically sets your jaw right and takes away any space that was left because of a tooth extraction procedure. This means that the chance of your jaw or gum changing shape is unlikely and it helps to preserve your natural features. While dentures are a great solution they don't go down to the root, and this means that there is a strong chance it will affect the way you look. This is not something you need to worry about when you get dental implants which is why they have a better success rate. It is also convenient to maintain dental implants and you won't need to worry about replacing them since they are long-lasting and easy to maintain.
